Robert Cholmondeley, 1st Viscount Cholmondeley (died 22 May 1681) was an English peer. Lord Cholmondeley was the son of Hugh Cholmondeley and Mary Bodvile. Sir Hugh Cholmondeley was his grandfather and Robert Cholmondeley, 1st Earl of Leinster, his uncle.

Lord Cholmondeley era hijo de Hugh Cholmondeley y Mary Bodvile. Sir Hugh Cholmondeley era su abuelo y Robert Cholmondeley, primer conde de Leinster, su tío. He was High Sheriff of Cheshire in 1620 and served as MP for Cheshire in 1625. He was created Viscount Cholmondeley of Kells ( Ireland) in 1628 and Baron Cholmondeley of Wich Malbank (i.e. Nantwich in Cheshire) on 1 September 1645. On 5 March 1646, he was created Earl of Leinster in Ireland.
He was created 1st Viscount Cholmondeley of Kells, co. Meath [Ireland] on 2 July 1628. He was created 1st Baron Cholmondeley of Wichemalbank, co. Chester [England] on 1 September 1645. He was created 1st Earl of Leinster [Ireland] on 5 March 1645/46. He died without legitimate heir on 8 Oct. 1659.
