    28 de abr. de 2024 · Robert II (1316–1390), king of Scots, was the son of Walter Stewart, hereditary Steward of Scotland (died 9 April 1326) and Marjory Bruce, daughter of Robert I. Walter and Marjory (died 25 March 1317 x 24 March 1318) were married shortly after 27 April 1315 and Robert is likely to have been born early in 1316.

  5. 30 de abr. de 2024 · In the Northern Isles, James's cousin Patrick Stewart, Earl of Orkney, resisted the Statutes of Iona and was consequently imprisoned. His natural son Robert led an unsuccessful rebellion against James, and the Earl and his son were hanged. Their estates were forfeited, and the Orkney and Shetland islands were annexed to the Crown.

  6. 2 de may. de 2024 · It appears that there was an obstacle of affinity to this second marriage, and a papal dispensation by Pope Innocent VI was required for it to be recognized by the Catholic Church. The affinity was due to her first husband, John Randolph, Earl of Moray, having been a second cousin of Robert Stewart.
