I think they got it right every year in the 1980s except 1984, when "I Just Called to Say I Love You" won over "Against All Odds," "Footloose," and "Ghostbusters." I hate that Stevie Wonder song, but the votes were probably split amongst those other songs. 1985 with "Say You, Say Me," wasn't great, but the other contenders were weak that year.
