Often cast in upper class and tradition-bound roles such as Mr Justice Graves in Thames Television's Rumpole of the Bailey, Bailey is also known for his portrayal of Uncle Mort in I Didn't Know You Cared, the BBC's adaptation of Peter Tinniswood's stories about an extended Yorkshire family.
Robin Bailey. Actor: Having a Wild Weekend. When young Robin and his sister Renee lived above a shop which their parents owned in Hucknall, Nottinhamshire. On leaving school Robin worked as a sorter and trainee telegraphist at the GPO. In 1936 he read for a part in the local drama club's production of 'Death Takes a Holiday.'
