6 de nov. de 2014 · The sleeve notes state that Shaw does not solo on the two Roger Wolf Khan tracks 1 & 2, and the tracks are only included to "know the kind of thing he started out doing" A pity because there are Roger Wolf Khan recordings where Shaw can be clearly heard soloing (RWK recorded in New York 1925 - 1932)) What disappointed me was that ...

It includes some lesser known material from the 30s with other leaders bands Roger Wolfe Kahn, Adrian Rollini, Wingy Manone, Red Norvo and Frankie Trumbauer before he formed his own orchestra, and it draw from recordings both by his full orchestra and the various incarnations of his breakdown ensemble The Gramercy Five.
