Ross Bleckner (amerikanisch, geb. 1949) ist ein in New York ansässiger Maler, der 1965 nach dem Besuch der Ausstellung The Responsive Eye im MoMA, beschloss Künstler zu werden. Er machte 1971 seinen Bachelor of Fine Arts an der New York University, wo er auf Sol LeWitt und Chuck Close traf. 1973 machte er seinen Master of Fine Arts am California Institute of the Arts.

Ross Bleckner was born in 1949 in New York and grew up in the prosperous town of Hewlett Harbor on Long Island. The first art exhibition he saw—The Responsive Eye, a show of Op art on view at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1965—had a strong impact on him.
