The Royal Academy of Arts (RA) is an art institution based in Burlington House on Piccadilly in London. Founded in 1768, it has a unique position as an independent, privately funded institution led by eminent artists and architects.

In 1814 the name was changed again, this time to the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. It is still situated in its original building, the Charlottenborg Palace, located on the Kongens Nytorv in Copenhagen. The School of Architecture has been situated in former naval buildings on Holmen since 1996.
The Royal Academy of Fine Arts offers bachelor and master programmes in visual arts, with a variety of specialisations: Painting, Photography, Graphic Design, Jewellery Design, Fashion, Theatre Costume Design, Sculpting, Printmaking and In Situ.
The first round of selection is made from digital images of artworks, from which the judges will shortlist up to 4,000 entries to be delivered to the Academy for the final round. If you are successful in the first, digital round, we will notify you by email and ask you to deliver your artwork to the Royal Academy for the next round of selection.
