But while these songs show Primal Fear’s “keep it simple, stupid” formula at its best, the tail end of the album… doesn’t. A song like “Angels of Mercy” takes what sound like the simplest core progressions ever and make them sound badass; meanwhile, a song like “Raving Mad” takes the simplest riffs and does nothing with them.
