SAL MINEO is an American icon. In the late 1950's, Sal Mineo, was one of the hottest movie stars in the world. Twice nominated for an academy award for Rebel without a cause, and Exodus, Golden Globe winner for Exodus, Emmy nominated for the TV production of Dino, Sal's brilliant career spans three decades of magnificent work, cut short in 1976 by his tragic murder.
14 de jun. de 2023 · In 1951, Sal Mineo landed his first stage role in Tennessee Williams’s The Rose Tattoo. That same year, he played the young prince opposite Yul Brynner in The King and I. Mineo later credited Yul Brynner with helping him hone his acting skills. Like his “Rebel Without a Cause” co-star, Natalie Wood, Sal Mineo started as a child star.
31 de ago. de 2022 · On February 17, 1976, Mineo's funeral took place in Mamaroneck, N.Y., amid a crowd of 250 mourners, many of them fans of the actor, per the Associated Press. Mineo had bought his parents a home in a quiet, upscale section of the Westchester County town, north of New York City, per the Associated Press. His family buried him in nearby Hawthorne.
