Sammy Davis jr. Samuel George Davis, beter bekend als Sammy Davis jr. ( New York, 8 december 1925 – Beverly Hills, 16 mei 1990 ), was een veelzijdige Amerikaanse entertainer. Hij danste, zong, speelde vibrafoon, trompet en slagwerk, acteerde en imiteerde.
Sammy was married to Swedish actress May Britt from 1960 to 1968. They had a daughter Tracey, and adopted two sons, Mark and Jeff. Sammy married his love, the phenomenal dancer Altovise Gore, in 1970 and the two were together until Sammy’s death in 1990. They adopted a son, Manny, who is today the Administrator of the Sammy Davis, Jr. Estate.
