  4. Cockerell, Samuel Pepys (1753–1827). English architect. A pupil of Sir Robert Taylor, he held several important official posts from 1774.On Taylor's death, he became Surveyor to the Foundling and Pulteney Estates in London: he was also Surveyor to the Victualling Office (from 1791), to the East India Company (from 1806), to the See of Canterbury, and to St Paul's Cathedral (1811–19).

Architect Samuel Pepys Cockerell designed Sezincote in the early 19th century for his brothers, first for Colonel John and, upon his death, the younger Sir Charles.
