The EP was produced by Alice in Chains and Rick Parashar and features guest vocals by Ann Wilson of the band Heart, Chris Cornell of Soundgarden and Mark Arm of Mudhoney. The track " Got Me Wrong " became a hit two years later after being featured on the soundtrack to the 1994 film Clerks .

Heart's Ann Wilson may be the best fitting vocalist on the album and provides some spooky backing harmonies on "Brother" and "Am I Inside." Unfortunately, the cameos by Soundgarden's Chris Cornell and Mudhoney's Mark Arm on "Right Turn" aren't quite as strong as one would hope.
4 de feb. de 1992 · The surprising addition of Ann Wilson is just great. As someone who was not a big fan of the overblown grunge/alternative movement of the early-90s, I think Sap is their finest moment and most enjoyable outing.

4 de feb. de 1992 · This EP is hugely underrated. A sixteen minute pack of acoustic blues sung by Layne Staley, Jerry Cantrell, Soundgarden's Chris Cornell, Mudhoney's Mark Arm, and Ann Wilson. The four ballads are deep, meaningful, and very catchy. It is close to being a perfect EP but a couple moments hold that back. Overall, an awesome EP.
