He gained recognition for his role as Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe media franchise beginning with the film Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), and including the Disney+ miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021).

Stan solo tenía dos años y su madre, la pianista Georgeta Orlovschi, obtuvo su custodia. En 1990 se marchó de Rumanía y se estableció en Viena, capital austríaca en la que mostró sus dotes como pianista.
