Seth Henry Neddermeyer (September 16, 1907 – January 29, 1988) was an American physicist who co-discovered the muon, and later championed the implosion-type nuclear weapon while working on the Manhattan Project at the Los Alamos Laboratory during World War II.

Seth Neddermeyer (1907-1988) was an American physicist. Neddermeyer was recruited to work on the Manhattan Project by J. Robert Oppenheimer from the National Bureau of Standards. He proposed using an implosion method for the bomb that would use powerful explosives to compress a core of radioactive plutonium to a critical mass.
