In 1985, Wright formed her own label, Miss B Records, issuing the album Sevens the following year. [16] [17] In 1988, Wright made history as the first black female artist to score a gold album on her own label, when her 1987 album, Mother Wit achieved that certification.
This site is a special project of the Estate of Betty Wright and is controlled by her surviving children Namphuyo, Patrice, Chaka and Asher - and, as always, in memory of Patrick. It is a loving tribute to a phenomenal entertainer and an incredible woman whose memory will live on through her music forever.
