Atlantic. Reprise. Milton " Shorty " Rogers (born Milton Rajonsky; April 14, 1924 – November 7, 1994) [1] was an American jazz musician, one of the principal creators of West Coast jazz. He played trumpet and flugelhorn and was in demand for his skills as an arranger.

Shorty Rogers bio. Milton Rajonsky, a Great Barrington, Massachusetts native, was one the main creators of West Coast Jazz. He was a flugelhorn player and an arranger. Rogers began his career as a professional musician working with Red Norvo and Will Bradley. He worked extensively with Woody Herman from 1947 to 1949.
