We briefly visited Sidney Sussex College in central Cambridge because we happened to be walking past and were curious to see where Oliver Cromwell's head was buried in 1960. Founded in 1596, in accordance with the will of Frances Sidney, Countess of Sussex (after whom the college is named), this is one of Cambridge's smaller colleges.
Applying to Cambridge. Applications for undergraduate courses at the University of Cambridge take place between 1 September and 15 October each year for places beginning the following Autumn. It's possible to apply for deferred entry too. To apply you must follow and complete the application process outlined on the University of Cambridge website.
The College’s Annual Report and Accounts for the recent years are available online. Two publications are produced for the College community: Pheon is the magazine for alumni and friends of Sidney. It includes alumni news and features on current events in College. The College Annual is the formal record of the past year at Sidney.

Australian-born mezzo-soprano Lynette Alcántara teaches singing to the Choral Scholars at Sidney Sussex, Wolfson and Queens Colleges. She is a Fellow of Wolfson College and has been Director of Music there since 1998.
