Sir Sassoon Jacob Hai David, 1st Baronet, KCSI (11 December 1849 – 27 November 1926) was an Indian merchant who was a member of the community of Baghdadi Jews who lived in Bombay from the late 19th century into the 20th century. He was a textile mill -owner and merchant who also became Chairman of the Bank of India .

Sasson was the elder son of Elias David Sassoon.
About Sir Albert Abdullah David Sassoon, 1st Baronet of Kensington Gore. Sassoon died in Brighton in 1896, aged 78 and was buried in the Sassoon Mausoleum, which he had had built; in 1933 his body was removed and reburied in the Willesden Jewish Cemetery in London.

Sir Albert Abdullah David Sassoon, 1st Baronet, KCB, CSI (25 July 1818 – 24 October 1896) was a Baghdad-born businessman and philanthropist. Biography. Life and career. Sassoon was born on 25 July 1818 in Baghdad, Ottoman Empire, into the Sassoon family of Baghdadi Jews. His father was David Sassoon (1792–1864). He was educated in British India.
10 de nov. de 2020 · Upon his father’s death in 1896, he assumed the baronetcy, inherited the home in Brighton, and took control of David Sassoon & Co. which, in 1901, was incorporated as a joint-stock company. In March 1899, Sir Edward was elected as a Liberal Unionist Party Member of Parliament for Hythe, in which capacity he functioned until his death.
