Slutsk (Belarusian: Слуцк, romanized: Sluck; Russian: Слуцк; Polish: Słuck, Lithuanian: Sluckas, Yiddish/Hebrew: סלוצק) is a town in Minsk Region, Belarus. It serves as the administrative center of Slutsk District , [1] and is located on the Sluch River 105 km (65 mi) south of the capital Minsk .

However, this is the oldest school in Belarus at the moment (now it houses gymnasium No. 1) — it is already over 405 years old. The Slutsk school has a rich and very interesting history.

31 de ene. de 2023 · One of the city's unique attractions Slutsk - this building the oldest school in Belarus, built at the Calvinist church at the beginning of the 17th century on behalf of Janusz Radziwill. The first version of the school was made of wood and was located in the same place as the future stone gymnasium.
In 1624 one of the oldest Belarusian schools — Slutsk Gymnasium — was opened. In early XVII century professional theater, fantoccini theater, shadow theater, ballet school and public theater "Batleyka" were acting at Prince Radzivill's court. Slutsk was famous for its silk sashes manufacture (1736—1844).
Paval Yakaulevich Zhauryd ( Belarusian: Па́вал Я́каўлевіч Жаўры́д, Russian: Па́вел Я́ковлевич Жаври́д, 13 June 1889 in Žaǔryd – 11 May 1939) was a Belarusian military commander. Zhauryd was born in the village of Cieciarouka in the Slutsky Uyezd and graduated from the Slutsk Gymnasium in 1909.
