Gustav III (24 January [ O.S. 13 January] 1746 – 29 March 1792), note on dates [1] also called Gustavus III, [2] was King of Sweden from 1771 until his assassination in 1792. He was the eldest son of King Adolf Frederick [1] and Queen Louisa Ulrika of Sweden.

Era el hijo mayor del rey Adolfo Federico de Suecia y de la princesa Luisa Ulrica de Prusia. Era también primo de la emperatriz Catalina II de Rusia .

Gustav III, född 13 januari 24 januari 1746 i Kungshuset på Riddarholmen i Stockholm, död 29 mars 1792 på Stockholms slott, var kung av Sverige från 1771 fram till sin död. Han var son till Adolf Fredrik och Lovisa Ulrika, bror till Karl XIII, far till Gustav IV Adolf, och kusin till Katarina II av Ryssland.
