1 de ene. de 2014 · Soft Euroscepticism is where there is not a principled objection to European integration or EU membership but where concerns on one (or a number) of policy areas lead to the expression of qualified opposition to the EU, or where there is a sense that ‘national interest’ is currently at odds with the EU’s trajectory (Taggart and Szczerbiak 2008: 7–8, italics are mine).
30 de mar. de 2020 · In contrast, soft Euroscepticism refers to ‘qualified opposition’, which does not entail an outright rejection of European integration, but rather objection to its supposedly unrelenting course towards a further extension of competences. These definitions have been criticised for being too broad and unclear.

Taggart and Szczerbiak first conceptualised in their 2002 article, “ The Party Politics of Euroscepticism in EU Member and Candidate States ” (a paper prepared for presentation at the European Consortium for Political Research Joint Workshops, Turin, March 21-27, 2002).
