  2. Stands close to the edge of the land abutting the sea about 0.5 mile/1km west of Llanfaglan village. It is approached across a field from a country lane some 150 yards/metres away. Around 4.5 miles from the centre of Caernarfon following the A487, then turning west along minor roads.

  3. Stunning ancient church now in the care of Friends of Friendless churches. Isolated in farmland. Set within a circular enclosure near the coast. Not easy to find, but worth the effort. 6. It is easily overlooked as it is surrounded by a boundary wall and tall trees. Follow the public footpath sign through the kissing gate and walk straight ahead over the flat field for approx. 165 yards/150 metres. The small open plan church is built of stone with a slate roof and slate flooring.

  7. St Baglan's is small and steeped in history. From the circular churchyard, the 6th-century inscribed stone, the "pirate" grave, the cross slabs, medieval roof and Georgian pews, it's a deeply special place. A clump of gnarled oaks stretch their branches protectively around the church. On the doorstep, the sea breathes rhythmically, slow and deep.
