  3. Music Text. 4 Psalms (Hebrew) Composer Notes. Tehillim (pronounced “teh-hill-leem”) is the original Hebrew word for “Psalms”. Literally translated it means “praises”, and it derives from the three letter Hebrew root ‘hey, lamed, lamed’ (hll) which is also the root of halleluyah.

  4. The three movements – fast, slow, fast – are played without pause. The tempo of the slow middle movement is exactly half that of the first movement, and the final movement resumes the tempo of the opening one.
