Originally from Marino, Dublin, but calling Sligo home, [1] Wickham was a founding member of In Tua Nua (left in 1985 replaced by Aingeala de Burca) and played violin on the classic U2 song "Sunday Bloody Sunday", as well as recordings by Elvis Costello, the Hothouse Flowers, Sinéad O'Connor, and World Party.

  7. Steve Wickham and his fiddle have appeared on two solo albums, twenty two albums as a band member, and he has appeared as a guest on over thirty albums. His first ever recording was as a guest on U2’s breakthrough album ‘War’ in 1982. He played electric violin on the tracks "Sunday Bloody Sunday" and "Drowning Man".
