Strangers on a Train (1950) is a psychological thriller novel by Patricia Highsmith about two men whose lives become entangled after one of them proposes they "trade" murders. It was adapted as a film in 1951 by director Alfred Hitchcock and again in 1969 by Robert Sparr .

Strangers on a train viel me licht tegen, al had ik hoge verwachtingen van de film. De film, die tot Hitch beste gerekend wordt begon weinig bijzonder en werd gaandeweg steeds interessanter. De film is best mooi geschoten maar kan niet tippen aan bv het oudere en ook zwart-witte Shadow of a Doubt (1943) .
