'Northern Sea Circuit ') is the second-largest island of Japan and comprises the largest and northernmost prefecture, making up its own region. [2] . The Tsugaru Strait separates Hokkaidō from Honshu; the two islands are connected by the undersea railway Seikan Tunnel .
