Hace 1 día · Joseon (Korean: 조선; Hanja: 朝鮮; MR: Chosŏn; ), officially Great Joseon State (대조선국; 大朝鮮國; [tɛ.tɕo.sʌn.ɡuk̚]), was a dynastic kingdom of Korea that lasted just over 500 years. It was founded by Taejo of Joseon in July 1392 and replaced by the Korean Empire in October 1897.

When King Gongmin ascended to the throne, Goryeo was under the influence of the Mongol Yuan China. He was forced to spend many years at the Yuan court, being sent there in 1341 as a virtual prisoner before becoming king.

The Shrine holds a main portrait to King Taejo of Joseon and has a nice bamboo grove. Omokdae is a pavilion above the village, a short hike up for a great view from the city.
