It is bordered on the north by Oklahoma, on the northeast by Arkansas, on the east by Louisiana, on the south by Mexico, and on the west by New Mexico. Its capital city is Austin, in the south-central part of the state.

23 de ene. de 2023 · Texas has no income tax, and it doesn't tax estates, either. Its inheritance tax was repealed in 2015. The sales tax is 6.25% at the state level, and local taxes can be added on. Texas also imposes a cigarette tax, a gas tax, and a hotel tax. There's no personal property tax except on property used for business purposes.

In 1519, the arrival of the first Spanish conquistadors in the region of North America now known as Texas found the region occupied by numerous Native American tribes.
