Plot. Henry Phyfe (Buttons) was a mild-mannered accountant, until circumstances forced the American Counter Intelligence Service (CIS) to recruit him to impersonate a foreign agent named U-31, who had been killed in an automobile accident.

El jefe CIS de Phyfe fue interpretado por el veterano actor Fred Clark, quien tenía un parecido físico superficial con el "Jefe" de Smart interpretado por Edward Platt. El programa marcó el regreso de Buttons a la televisión semanal después de que su programa de variedades terminara una carrera de tres años en 1955.
Thu, Feb 10, 1966. Hanahan wants Henry to make contact with a pair of agents who are married, to get something from them. Problem is that the wife has the hots for U31 and the husband is insecure when he's around. And when he catches them in a compromising position, Henry tries to explain it and asks for the item which he gives to him.
Jailbird Phyfe: Dirigido por Howard Morris. Con Red Buttons. Hanahan tells Henry he wants him to make contact with an agent who knew U-31 known as the Butcher. Henry tells him he has a job at a military base. Hanahan reminds Henry of his duty but he gets word that they lost track of the Butcher.
