Hudební kariéra. Inspirací pro Drinkard Singers byl tovární dělník Nicholas "Nitch" Drinkard, který povzbuzoval své děti, aby vytvořili gospelovou pěveckou skupinu v Savannah v Georgii kolem roku 1938. The driving inspiration behind the Drinkard Singers was factory worker Nicholas "Nitch" Drinkard, who encouraged his children to form a gospel singing group in Savannah, Georgia, around 1938. The original group comprised Emily Drinkard (later known as Cissy Houston), her sister Anne, and brothers Nick and Larry.

Lee Drinkard’s daughters went on to perform under the names Dee Dee and Dionne Warwick. Dee Dee Warwick had performed as one of the Drinkard Singers, and along with her sister and Aunt Cissy, formed a gospel trio called the Gospelaires.
