The Ghost Goes West is both a screwball and an all-out satire on American materialism, and remains one of Clair's funniest films. Audience in Europe and America loved this film and it was the most commercially successful British film of 1936.
Robert Donat was ever present on 60s and 70s TV. His premature passing was a loss to all. The Ghost goes west is perfect in so many ways. Great fun, combined with a twist of nostalgia, spooky goings on, and of course romance. I'm so glad I bought this DVD because it took me back to my childhood and innocent times.
