  2. The Hall School is an independent boys' preparatory school in Belsize Park, Hampstead, north London, currently teaching boys from age 4 to age 13. Description. The school, across its three buildings, a new one being built currently, has a roll of over 432 boys, approximately 60 in each year from Years 1–8 and 40 in Reception.

  4. School History. The Hall School traces its roots back to 1889 when the Reverend Francis Wrottesley set up his own school, primarily to educate his own growing family of boys. He took in other paying pupils and so the Belsize School for Boys was born.

  5. Admissions Procedure. Admission at 4+. The Hall admits approximately 50 boys into Reception classes (aged 4+) every September. Assessments for these places are held in the preceding Spring Term.

  6. They understood that a school based in Belsize, with a catchment area drawn from the families of vibrant north London, should embrace the progressive Hampstead values.

  7. The Hall has an excellent track record of gaining both academic and music awards. Boys do not sit any public examinations including SATs, GCSEs or A levels. A series of Standardised Assessments are sat throughout the School. The vast majority of the boys will have received an offer in Year 6 or 7 for entry to a senior school in Year 9 ...
