History and traditions. Latymer was established in 1624 on Church Street, Edmonton by bequest of Edward Latymer, a London City merchant in Hammersmith. [1] .

With around 230 students in Years 12 and 13, the Latymer School’s Sixth Form has been rated outstanding (Ofsted, March 2022). Applications are welcomed from all, and the Sixth Form provides a diverse and inclusive environment for study.
On Tuesday 30 th January, we held a special assembly to launch the 400 th anniversary of the Latymer School, both reflecting on the history that shaped Latymer as well as looking forward to the exciting events that await us in 2024.
The Latymer School is a grammar school in Edmonton, London, England. It was started in 1624 by merchant Edward Latymer. In their 2008 report Ofsted graded the school as 'outstanding'. Bruce Forsyth was a student. The school is selective and co-educational. About 186 pupils are admitted to Year 7 (aged 11 or 12) annually.
