Approaching the harbor of a South Sea island, hard, narrowminded Captain Adams expresses his disapproval of the "indecent" native people and their music, while his lovely young wife, Martha, is secretly drawn to the romantic atmosphere in general and to Tonia (the grandson of an American) in particular.
