His reputation grew in the next decades, even as he fought off cancer twice, which damaged his voice in 1998 and his lungs in 2013. He died of the complications of Covid-19 on April 7, 2020, at the age of 73.
The Missing Years is the 10th studio album by American folk musician John Prine, released in 1991 on Oh Boy Records. It won the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album.
