John Carl Hendricks (September 16, 1921 – November 22, 2017), known professionally as Jon Hendricks, was an American jazz lyricist and singer. He is one of the originators of vocalese, which adds lyrics to existing instrumental songs and replaces many instruments with vocalists, such as the big-band arrangements of Duke Ellington and Count Basie.
The Peacocks is an intimate Jazz session. On the uptempo The Chess Players, the quartet is augmented by the vocals of Jon Hendricks, Judith Hendricks, Michelle Hendricks, Beverly Getz. Mostly though, the band puts an emphasis on ballads. There are tracks with only Stan and Jimmy (like Serenade to Sweden or the title track).

The Peacocks is an album by pianist Jimmy Rowles featuring saxophonist/album producer Stan Getz which was recorded in 1975 and released on the Columbia label in 1977. [1] [2] [3] The album was one of several released in the 1960s and 1970s where Rowles spelled his first name as "Jimmie".
