Overview. The Rough Riders is an American Western television series set in the West after the American Civil War. It aired on ABC for the 1958-1959 television season. It was produced by Ziv Television, the production company responsible for such hit shows as Bat Masterson, Tombstone Territory, Sea Hunt, and Highway Patrol.
Episodes of the ABC series focus on the exploits of the three men as they travel between the Great Smokies and the High Sierras, fighting desperadoes, righting wrongs and helping good people plagued by bandits along the way.
The Rough Riders is a 1997 three hour television miniseries about future President Theodore Roosevelt and the regiment (the 1st US Volunteer Cavalry; aka the Rough Riders). The series prominently shows the bravery of the volunteers at the Battle of San Juan Hill, part of the Spanish-American War of 1898. It was released on DVD in 2006.
