The Suppression of the African Slave-trade to the United States of America (1894) was W. E. B. Du Bois 's doctoral thesis for Harvard University which he finished while teaching at Wilberforce University. [1] This thesis made Du Bois the first African-American to earn a Ph.D from Harvard.
