Barry Doyle Harris (December 15, 1929 – December 8, 2021) was an American jazz pianist, bandleader, composer, arranger, and educator. He was an exponent of the bebop style. [1] [2] Influenced by Thelonious Monk and Bud Powell , [3] Harris in turn influenced and mentored bebop musicians including Donald Byrd , Paul Chambers , Curtis Fuller , Joe Henderson , Charles McPherson , and Michael Weiss .

Tower of Power (TOP) is an American rhythm and blues band from Oakland, California.Formed in August 1968, the group is centred around a horn section which originally featured tenor saxophonists Emilio "Mimi" Castillo and Steven "Skip" Mesquite, baritone saxophonist Stephen "Doc" Kupka, and trumpeters Greg Adams, David Padron, Mic Gillette and Ken Balzell.
Marc “VW” became a full-time member of Tower of Power in 2018. Born and raised in Amsterdam, Holland, Marc started playing bass guitar at the age of 16.
