Today, Waterkeeper Alliance, based in Manhattan, unites all Waterkeeper organizations. The group helps to coordinate and cover issues affecting Waterkeepers that work to protect rivers, lakes, bays, sounds, and other water bodies around the world.

From Alaska to the Himalayas, the Great Lakes to Australia, the Waterkeeper movement defends the fundamental human right to drinkable, fishable, and swimmable waters, and combines firsthand knowledge of local waterways with an unwavering commitment to the rights of their communities.
Synopsis. Profiles six waterkeepers, part of Robert F. Kennedy Jr's Waterkeeper Alliance, and the water bodies they are fighting to protect: Puget Sound, in Washington State; the Cook Inlet in Alaska; Santa Monica Bay in Los Angeles; the Neuse River in North Carolina; the Willamette River in Oregon; and the Hackensack River in New Jersey.
