Frank Baum 's 1900 children's fantasy novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, it was primarily directed by Victor Fleming, who left production to take over the troubled Gone with the Wind.

The original TWWoO, the rest of the first 6, the remainder of Baum's 14 novels, and the remainder of the "Famous Forty", in that order of importance more or less. ;) Wicked too, I guess. Stage musical and/or the book series. Beyond that, I'd say it's more up to the individual.
