Theodosia Bartow Burr (November 1746 – May 18, 1794), previously known as Theodosia Bartow Prevost, was an American Patriot. Raised by a widowed mother, she married British Army officer Jacques Marcus Prevost at age 17.

Theodosia Prevost Full Biography. I was a fifth generation American born in 1746 to Ann Bartow, the widow of Theodosious Bartow who died at the age of 34 while my mother was pregnant with me and for whom I was named.

The couple had quite a scandalous start to their relationship. She was married to James (or Jacques, according to some sources) Marcus Prevost, a major in the British 60th Regiment when the two first met.
