  3. 9 de jul. de 2011 · Thomas William Anson, 1st Earl of Lichfield was born on 20 October 1795. 1 He was baptised at Colwich, Staffordshire, England G. 1 He was the son of Thomas Anson, 1st Viscount Anson and Lady Anne Margaret Coke. 1 He married Louisa Catherine Philips, daughter of Nathaniel Philips, on 11 February 1819. 2 He died on 18 March 1854 at age 58. 2

  6. Anson’s involvement in colonial life was considerable – he was a well-known figure around Charleston and he enjoyed drinking and gambling. From 1726 onwards he invested his winnings in land, acquiring more than 12,000 acres in the Carolinas, including the suburb of Charleston that still bears his name, Ansonborough.
