Sir Thomas Picton was a British military officer who lived from 1758 to 1815. He was born in Wales and served in various military campaigns throughout his career. Picton is best known for his role in the Napoleonic Wars , particularly his involvement in the Peninsular War in Spain and Portugal.

18 de jun. de 2019 · Thomas Picton was born in Pembrokshire in 1758 and began a military career in 1771 as an ensign serving in the 12th Regiment of Foot. During a posting to Gibraltar he gained promotion to the rank of Captain. The regiment returned to Britain and, in 1783, its disbandment was announced. Hearing the news, the men mutinied.
