2 de abr. de 2013 · Thomas Sheraton's trade card offered his services as delineator and designer. In this capacity he began to publish The Cabinet-Maker and Upholsterer's Drawing-Book in 1791. With additions and alterations it reached completed form in 1794.

It is named for the famed London, England furniture designer and teacher Thomas Sheraton (1751 to 1806), who trained as a cabinetmaker. He is very well known for his written guides, especially his first, The Cabinet-Maker and Upholsterer's Drawing-Book, published 1791-94.

13 de dic. de 2016 · Thomas Sheraton was born in Stockton-on-Tees in 1751. While he was young, he taught himself geometry and how to draw. Although he never received specialized training to improve his working skills, he probably apprenticed to some local cabinet-makers shop. Often, he called himself a mechanic, with little advantages coming from academic education.
