For those new to Ultravox, `Three Into One' features the best of the three first albums Ultravox made before the switch to a new record company. These three were released in 1977 and 1978. Island dropped the three Ultravox albums from its catalogue, and released a compilation of highlights from the group's first three albums in 1980, called Three into One. Foxx subsequently signed to Virgin Records and released his album Metamatic in January 1980.
