1 de jun. de 1998 · Tiger is the part of Okoshi's personality that is the renowned jazz trumpeter who got his start in the U.S. Toru is his alter ego, who was born in Ashiya City, Japan, the son of a samurai warrior. It was Toru who earned a degree in commerce from Kwansei Gakuin University in Japan before coming to America on his honeymoon.
Tiger Okoshi bio. Tiger Okoshi, a versatile trumpeter, has performed both straight-ahead and fusion. Okoshi, a U.S. citizen since 1972, first became famous playing with Gary Burton. He also recorded with Bob Moses and George Russell’s Living Time Orchestra early in the ’90s. Okoshi was a regular recording leader for JVC.
