17 de abr. de 2024 · The Springfields were a British folk-pop vocal trio who had success in the early 1960s in the UK, US, Ireland and Australia. They included singer Dusty Springfield and her brother, songwriter Tom Springfield, along with Tim Feild, who was later replaced by Mike Hurst.
Hace 1 día · Two years later, with her brother Dion O'Brien ("Tom Springfield") and Tim Feild, Springfield formed the folk-pop vocal trio the Springfields. Two of their five 1961–63 top 40 UK hits – " Island of Dreams " and "Say I Won't Be There" – reached No. 5 on the charts, both in the spring of 1963.
19 de abr. de 2024 · Tim Feild was replaced by Mike Hurst fairly quickly. Thanks to some records that had considerable radio play, as well as television appearances, the group achieved early popularity. "Island of Dreams" was released in 1963 and rose to number five on the UK singles chart.

3 de dic. de 2021 · In 1960, Mary O'Brien was singing in an all girl trio while her brother, Dion, was performing as half of a folk duo with friend Tim Feild. They decided to form a trio named The Springfields and to complete the transition, the O'Briens became Dusty and Tom Springfield.
