Upper Canada College, TORONTO, was founded in 1829 by the Lieutenant Governor of Upper Canada, Sir John COLBORNE, with the intention of it being a non-denominational feeder school for the newly founded King's College (which later became the University of Toronto).
Upper Canada College was founded in 1829 by the Lieutenant Governor of Upper Canada at that time, Major-General Sir John Colborne (later Lord Seaton), to serve as a feeder school to the newly established King's College (later the University of Toronto).
Our history of bold and progressive thinking has inspired UCC’s renewed Strategic Directions—developed in extensive collaboration with our community. UCC's Strategic Directions: Towards 2029 sets the course for the next decade as we prepare to celebrate the College’s 200th anniversary.
