Hace 3 días · Utah was a Mexican territory when the first pioneers arrived in 1847. Early in the Mexican–American War in late 1846, the United States had taken control of New Mexico and California. The entire Southwest became U.S. territory upon the signing of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo , February 2, 1848.

23 de abr. de 2024 · The Four Corners location is marked by a granite and aluminum bronze monument with the seals of the four states, the flags of the states and the tribal nations of the area, and an inscription that reads, “Four states here meet in freedom under God.” Four Corners lies at 37° N and 109° W on the rugged Colorado Plateau.
